BIW Closures

Opportunity to work on advanced automotive engineering projects, focusing on Body-in-White (BIW) doors and closures design and development.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop BIW door & closure components using NX.

Validate styling data, packaging studies, and interference checks.

Define hinge axis, latch positions, seals, mechanisms, and joining elements.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Simulation, Manufacturing, Vehicle Integration, Corrosion Protection).

Manage engineering changes, documentation, and project presentations.

Drive cost reduction, weight optimization, and innovation initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s/Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

5–8 years of experience in BIW/Automotive product development.

Strong knowledge of BIW closures, CAD (NX), GD&T, PMI, and change management.

Understanding of manufacturing feasibility, tooling, and proto/hardware builds.

Experience in VA/VE and supplier coordination.

Preferred: Exposure to German OEM processes, Daimler methodologies, CAD/GD&T/project management certifications.
