Chief Risk Officer

The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) will be responsible for leading the organization’s enterprise risk management strategy, ensuring effective governance, regulatory compliance, and business continuity. The role involves identifying, assessing, and mitigating strategic, financial, operational, regulatory, cybersecurity, and compliance risks while supporting sustainable business growth and protecting the organization’s assets and reputation.

Working closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and executive leadership team, the CRO will develop and implement a robust risk management framework, strengthen internal controls, enhance compliance programs, and provide strategic risk insights to support informed business decisions. The successful candidate will foster a proactive risk culture, monitor emerging business and regulatory risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies to improve organizational resilience and long-term performance.

Responsibilities

Develop and lead the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework.

Identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate business risks across all functions.

Establish risk governance policies, frameworks, and internal controls.

Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and corporate governance requirements.

Lead business continuity, crisis management, and disaster recovery planning.

Present risk assessments and mitigation plans to the CEO and Board.

Monitor financial, operational, cybersecurity, supply chain, and strategic risks.

Partner with Internal Audit, Compliance, Finance, IT, Legal, and Operations teams.

Drive a strong risk-aware culture through leadership and training.

Monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and provide regular executive reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, Law, or a related field; MBA or professional certifications (FRM, PRM, CFA, CIA, CA) preferred.
  • 15–20+ years of leadership experience in risk management, governance, compliance, or internal audit.
  • Strong knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and business continuity.
  • Proven leadership, strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
