Safety and Compliance Officer

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Safety Management:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and policies in accordance with local regulations and industry best practices.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  2. Training and Awareness:
    • Provide training and support to employees on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and compliance requirements.
    • Organize safety drills and workshops to enhance awareness and preparedness.
  3. Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant safety laws and regulations.
  4. Incident Investigation:
    • Investigate accidents and near-misses, documenting findings and recommending preventive measures.
    • Prepare reports and maintain records related to safety incidents.
  5. Reporting and Documentation:
    • Prepare and submit safety reports to management and regulatory agencies as required.
    • Maintain accurate records of safety training, inspections, and compliance activities.
  6. Collaboration:
    • Work closely with management and employees to promote a culture of safety and compliance.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure safety considerations are integrated into operational practices.
  7. Continuous Improvement:
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs, making recommendations for improvement.
    • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in safety management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in safety management or compliance roles, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to conduct training and engage employees effectively.
  • Proficient in MS Office and safety management software.
  • Certification in Safety Management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is a plus.
