Head – Supply Chain Management (SCM) to lead and manage end-to-end supply chain operations within the Fertilizer / Agri-Inputs / Chemicals manufacturing industry. The role will be responsible for ensuring efficient planning, procurement, inventory management, logistics, warehousing, and distribution while maintaining optimal service levels and cost efficiency.

The Head – SCM will develop and execute supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives, production requirements, customer demand, and market conditions. The position will work closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, Sales & Marketing, Finance, Quality, Warehousing, Logistics, and Commercial teams to ensure uninterrupted availability of raw materials, packaging materials, finished products, and other critical resources.

The role will drive demand and supply planning, S&OP, inventory optimization, supplier management, logistics efficiency, warehouse operations, and distribution planning. The candidate will also identify supply chain risks, improve operational processes, and implement strategies to strengthen supply continuity and business resilience.

The successful candidate should have strong knowledge of the fertilizer supply chain, including raw material sourcing, bulk and bagged fertilizer movement, warehouse management, transportation, distribution networks, import/export coordination, and regulatory requirements. Strong commercial understanding, negotiation skills, analytical capability, and leadership experience are essential.

Role & Accountabilities

• Develop and implement the overall SCM strategy aligned with business and operational objectives.
• Lead end-to-end supply chain planning, procurement, logistics, warehousing, and distribution.
• Manage demand planning, supply planning, production planning, and S&OP processes.
• Ensure timely availability of raw materials, packaging materials, and critical inputs.
• Lead supplier identification, evaluation, negotiation, performance management, and strategic partnerships.
• Optimize inventory levels while ensuring uninterrupted production and customer supply.
• Manage transportation, logistics, warehousing, and distribution operations.
• Develop efficient distribution strategies for domestic and regional markets.
• Monitor supply chain costs and drive freight, inventory, procurement, and logistics cost optimization.
• Establish and monitor SCM KPIs including OTIF, inventory turnover, procurement savings, logistics cost, service levels, and forecast accuracy.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to suppliers, raw materials, logistics, market conditions, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable fertilizer industry, safety, environmental, statutory, and transportation regulations.
• Collaborate with Sales & Marketing to align supply with market demand and customer requirements.
• Drive digitalization, process automation, analytics, and continuous improvement across SCM operations.
• Build, lead, and develop high-performing SCM, procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams.
• Present supply chain performance, risks, cost analysis, and improvement plans to senior management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Operations, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, or Business Management will be preferred.
• 15–20+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, or Operations.
• Strong experience in the Fertilizer, Chemicals, Agri-Inputs, or Process Manufacturing industry.
• Proven experience managing large-scale procurement, logistics, warehousing, and distribution operations.
• Strong exposure to S&OP, demand planning, inventory management, supplier management, and cost optimization.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, analytical, commercial, and stakeholder management skills.
