Manager – Stores to lead and manage end-to-end stores and warehouse operations in an automotive manufacturing environment. The role will be responsible for ensuring efficient receipt, storage, preservation, identification, movement, and timely availability of raw materials, components, consumables, packaging materials, and finished goods.

The position will drive inventory accuracy, material availability, warehouse productivity, space utilization, and cost optimization while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, 5S, and process compliance. The Manager – Stores will work closely with Production, PPC, Purchase, Quality, Logistics, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth material flow and uninterrupted production operations.

The role will also oversee SAP/ERP transactions, stock reconciliation, cycle counting, FIFO/FEFO implementation, material traceability, ageing analysis, excess and obsolete inventory control, and physical inventory audits. The position requires strong leadership to manage stores personnel, improve operational discipline, implement standard operating procedures, and develop a performance-driven stores team.

Roles &  Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day stores and warehouse operations across receiving, inspection, storage, picking, and dispatch.
• Ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, consumables, and production materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, stock levels, and material reconciliation.
• Implement FIFO/FEFO and proper material identification, storage, and traceability practices.
• Monitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts and periodic physical stock verification.
• Coordinate with Purchase, Production, Quality, PPC, Logistics, and Finance teams.
• Control excess, obsolete, slow-moving, and non-moving inventory.
• Ensure proper handling of automotive components and prevent material damage or deterioration.
• Manage ERP/SAP transactions related to material receipts, issues, transfers, and inventory.
• Develop and monitor KPIs such as inventory accuracy, stock ageing, material availability, space utilization, and warehouse productivity.
• Ensure compliance with company SOPs, safety standards, 5S, and audit requirements.
• Lead, train, and manage the stores team for efficient operational performance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for cost reduction, space optimization, process improvement, and inventory control.

Required Experience & Skills

• Graduate/Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Mechanical, or related discipline.
• 8–12 years of relevant experience in Stores/Warehouse operations, preferably in the automotive or auto-component industry.
• Strong knowledge of automotive components, raw materials, inventory management, and warehouse processes.
• Experience with SAP/ERP, Excel, inventory control, FIFO, cycle counting, and material traceability.
• Strong team management, analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and safety practices will be an advantage.
